SwiftKey 7.0 Brings Revised Interface, Stickers, & Languages

SwiftKey Keyboard version 7.0 for Android is now live on the Google Play Store, bringing with it a bunch of new features such as custom stickers, new languages, and a revised user interface. The biggest change is the introduction of a very Allo-like plus symbol that hides away some of SwiftKey’s features. By tapping that, users can find the keyboard’s GIFs, emoji, stickers, dedicated clipboard, settings, and more. Each is searchable already, but having everything laid out underneath a single clickable button should make it easier to switch between them. With that said, some reviewers are already expressing dislike for the new insurance despite that it’s arguably smoother and easier to use. Achieving familiarity despite big changes is difficult but the refresh should help draw in at least a few new users and it shouldn’t be too difficult to adapt to with just.

Setting that aside for now, the update also delivers support for 28 new languages. Those are said to include Bengali English, Marathi English, Latin, and others, which should also help grow the user base since more people will be able to swipe in their favorite language – without the built-in autocorrect ruining everything they type or slowing things down. Beyond that, users will also be able to create and use their own customized sticker directly inside of the keyboard upon selecting one. Customizations appear to be limited to text, as of this writing, but that should make for some interesting sticker-based memes, at very least. In any case, tapping the pin while customizing a sticker will result in the final version of the sticker being saved to its own dedicated collection of stickers for future use.
